What will you be watching digital TV on in the new year?
Perhaps the best way to watch digital TV is not on a television at all. As we move into 2010, a huge percentage of digital TV watchers have taken to sitting in bed with their laptop computers and watching their favorite television programmes individually, as they listen by means of headphones. Obviously, with one home WiFi connection, people are able to watch exactly the program they wish to without consulting their flatmates or family. Furthermore, the on demand abilities of programming, such as that offered by using the BBC iPlayer allow one to catch up on any favorite shows that have been missed or watch up to the minute sports events. At the present time, massive programming such as is available with TV packages from major cable TV providers such as Virgin Media cannot easily be viewed on one’s home computer using broadband. However, BT Vision channels are being furnished through BT broadband and beyond them the pay per play capabilities of BT vision are somewhat broad. Still, the purpose of using one’s broadband connection to watch television including sports events and movies is to save money. Remember the BBC iPlayer is free to watch. It is only a matter of time until global television is available from the Internet free of charge for everyone.
